Hockey fans are expected to flock downtown this weekend for an NHL alumni event. The City of Winnipeg said York Avenue, between Edmonton Street and Carlton Street, is closing Saturday at 8 a.m. It will reopen around 5:30 p.m. the same day. Drivers in the area are being cautioned to expect delays during the street’s closure. The closure is due to Saturday’s sold-out Winnipeg Jets Fan Fest, happening at the RBC Convention Centre. That event runs from noon to 9:30 p.m.
