The RCMP says a Lower Sackville, N.S., man has been charged with assault, as well as drug and weapons offences, after officers executed a search warrant in the community. Police responded to a report that a woman had been assaulted by a man known to her on May 20 around 11:40 p.m. The following day, police say the man reported that he had been assaulted by the woman. “As the investigation progressed, officers determined that the reports were a result of intimate partner violence, with the man identified as the dominant aggressor,” read a news release from RCMP. Police say they arrested the man on Wednesday. General duty officers then executed a search warrant at the man’s home on Bruce Drive. During the search, officers say they seized a loaded handgun, a quantity of drugs and cash.
