Police say they are investigating a fatal crash involving a stolen car near Brookfield, N.S., early Tuesday morning. RCMP, fire and ambulance crews responded to the scene in the 1600-block of Highway 2 just before 6 a.m. Police say a southbound vehicle left the road, hit trees and a power pole. “The driver and only occupant, a youth from Brookfield, was pronounced deceased at the scene,” reads an RCMP news release. “Investigators later learned that the vehicle, a blue Volkswagen Rabbit, was reported stolen from Stewiacke.” Highway 2 was closed while an RCMP collision reconstructionist attended the scene. It reopened several hours later. For more Nova Scotia news, visit our dedicated provincial page
