The Prince Edward Island RCMP is investigating the death of an inmate at a provincial corrections facility on Thursday. Police say they responded to an in-custody death of a prisoner in their fifties around 5:15 a.m. “The individual, who was serving a sentence at the time, was discovered unresponsive during routine inmate checks,” an RCMP news release reads. “Emergency medical assistance was sought; however, the individual was pronounced deceased at the scene.” Police say there is no evidence of foul play at this time.
