Barrie police are on the hunt for a suspect believed to be behind two overnight break-ins at businesses on Bell Farm Road. Officers were first called to a restaurant around 1:20 a.m. on Wednesday after an alarm notified the owner of a break-in. Investigators say the man entered and left through a locked back door before fleeing the area. Officers and the K9 unit searched the neighbourhood but did not find the suspect. Nothing was reported stolen. During the search, police found a blue and black backpack with several tools, plus side cutters and a nail puller. Shortly after, officers responded to a second alleged break-in at a another business near Bell Farm Road and St Vincent Street. Police say surveillance footage shows the same man entering a locked side door before leaving the area. The suspect is described as a man, about five-foot-10, wearing a green baseball cap, a light grey hoodie, dark grey sweatpants and grey and black running shoes with white soles. Anyone who recognizes this person is asked to call local police.
