A restaurant in our region is racking up another accolade after it was recognized as a Top 100 restaurant in Ontario. LORE in Collingwood, which has recently earned a Michelin recognition, has made it onto the list of Top 100 Restaurants. The restaurant is meant to be a sister establishment to The Pine, in Creemore, which is run by the same owners as LORE. LORE, owned by married couple Jeremy Austin and his wife Cassie, is a traditional Canadian restaurant that draws inspiration from traditional Canadian dishes. For example, one dish on the menu is “Walter’s Albacore,” which is based off the quintessential Canadian cocktail – the Caesar. The dish is reimagined through a tuna tartar dish in tomato clam brother with pickled clams. Most of the restaurants that made it onto the list are located in Toronto. Greystones in Orangeville and The Tremont Café, also in Collingwood, are a couple of the select few that have made it onto the prestigious list outside of Toronto.
