Provincial police say a man is dead following an accident involving a lawn mower on Saturday. It happened in the area of Salem Road in the Little Britain neighbourhood of Kawartha Lakes. OPP responded to a call in the area around 8 p.m. alongside Kawartha Lakes Paramedic Service and Kawartha Lakes Fire Rescue services. Police say the lawn mower rider, a 69-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. The area was closed for several hours as police conducted their investigation but was later reopened. Details of what happened are scarce, but police say at this time, the man’s death is not considered suspicious. CTV News has reached out to OPP to request further information.
