Police search for driver who fled after striking youth pedestrian

Provincial police are investigating a fail to remain crash involving a pedestrian that happened in Orillia Friday evening.

According to Orillia OPP, a blue sedan struck a youth pedestrian at around 5:45 p.m. in a crosswalk at the Highway 12 West and Monarch Drive intersection in Orillia.

Police say the driver exited the vehicle, then re-entered it and fled the scene.

The driver is described by police as a bald older man with sunglasses and a large grey beard.
