The Collingwood library says it’s offering many ways for residents to have fun, but one form of entertainment is back by popular demand. The library says it has seen an enormous spike in demand for board games and puzzles, like Dungeons and Dragons. In addition to its kids’ chess club, the Collingwood Library says it now has an adult chess club and mahjong has become so popular it now fills an entire room with players. “People want person to person interaction,” Jeff Cepukas with the Collingwood Library tells CTV News. “We’re in such a digital world these days with everything online, with social media doom-scrolling and all that and I think people are starting to reject it a little bit,” Cepukas says. “I think they want to get out there and interact with their community and by play with a game that’s tactile again and use their hands and use their minds and not just scroll away an evening,” says Cepukas. Board games are free to play at the Collingwood Library from Monday to Saturday.
