A man and woman are facing a number of charges after police pulled them over to confirm they owned the vehicle they were in. According to Nottawasaga OPP, around 12:30 a.m. on Monday, officers noticed a white SUV being driven by someone who did not match the description of the vehicle’s registered owner. During a traffic stop, officers seized 36.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine and eight and half grams of suspected cocaine. Officers also determined that the plates on the vehicle were fake. The driver, a 43-year-old Mono woman, is facing two counts of possession of a schedule l substance. She also faces charges of operating while prohibited under the criminal code, one count of altering a plate, failure to surrender a licence, failure to surrender an insurance card, failure to surrender a permit for a motor vehicle, failure to apply for a permit for becoming an owner and operating a motor vehicle without insurance. Meanwhile, the passenger, a 62-year-old Essa man, is facing two counts of possession of a schedule I substance. The vehicle was impounded for 45 days.
