Two Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service officers have been charged by Ontario Provincial Police with fraud and breach of trust during on-duty incidents. On Oct. 8, 2025, the NAPS chief of police asked the OPP to investigate allegations involving two NAPS members under the direction of the OPP professional standards unit, police said in a news release Tuesday. A 25-year-old Thunder Bay officer was charged Sept. 22 with fraud and breach of trust, while on Sept. 28, a 32-year-old officer from Murillo was charged with similar offences. Both officers are scheduled to appear in Thunder Bay court Dec. 16.
