Calgary suspects arrested in incident that injured 4 in Airdrie

Two Calgarians have been arrested in connection with a crash and shooting in Airdrie on May 15, 2026.

Airdrie RCMP say two Calgarians have been charged in connection with an incident that left four people injured last week.

At 2:36 a.m. on May 15, Airdrie RCMP were called to a crash and shooting in the southwest quadrant of that city.

Officials say the incident stemmed from a situation where a white Dodge Caravan was being chased by multiple vehicles.

Police say the victims were forced off the road at Bayside Boulevard and Eight Street S.W., where they struck a tree.

Officials say several shots were fired.

“A trailing suspect vehicle intentionally drove over an occupant of the van as they were taking cover from the gunfire,” RCMP said in a Wednesday news release.

Three of the occupants of the van were taken to hospital in stable condition with minor injuries, while a fourth was taken to hospital in serious condition.

Airdrie RCMP say this was a targeted incident.

Two people, 25-year-old Khaled Ismail and 24-year-old Husein Chahine, have been charged with aggravated assault, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle.

Both suspects were remanded into custody and are expected in the Alberta Court of Justice in Airdrie on May 21.
