Manitoba looking for feedback on possible end of seasonal time change

Premier Wab Kinew says the province will consult residents about a possible permanent switch to year-round daylight or standard time.

The Manitoba government is asking for the public’s feedback on whether to end the practice of changing clocks twice a year.

The province officially launched a survey Wednesday asking if Manitobans want to end seasonal time changes.

Currently in Manitoba, the time moves one hour forward to daylight saving time in March and then moves back one hour in November to standard time.

Kinew told reporters last month that seasonal time changes could be coming to an end in Manitoba after Alberta, British Columbia and the Northwest Territories announced plans to stop. Saskatchewan and Yukon have both previously ended seasonal time changes.

The survey includes a report on health impacts of the time change for people to read.

The survey can be filled out online.
