Former Calgarian Kat Webber has a resume featuring Kendrick Lamar, Drake and Coldplay, but there’s one more star she’d love to work with. “Rihanna’s always been at the top of my list,” said the Juno winning music video editor and director. Lamar’s single luther captured Music Video of the Year at the Junos in Hamilton this week. Director Karena Evans accepted the Juno, but as the editor, Webber’s digital fingerprints are all over the video. “When the work resonates with an audience and when you get to work with artists that have such an incredible platform and are masters at what they do, I keep saying it’s a dream come true, but that’s exactly what it is,” said Webber, who now lives in Los Angeles. Her partnership with Evans has resulted in some incredible experiences, including travel to a number of countries for Coldplay’s video for Everyday Life. “We shot in LA and Cape Town, South Africa and Marrakesh, Morocco and Kiev, Ukraine, and it was just a once in a lifetime experience,” said Webber.
