A traffic stop on Highway 400 has lead to some potentially life altering charges for one driver. Provincial police say the Highway Enforcement Team conducted a traffic stop along Hwy. 400 in Barrie. OPP say the vehicle was initially stopped for vehicle violations and an expired registration. However, OPP say officers observed a cannabis in the car and began a search, which lead them to finding a bag of crystal meth. The driver is now facing criminal drug possession charges. Additionally, the driver is facing provincial offences of coated headlights, expired registration and driving with no insurance. CTV News has reached out to OPP for additional information.
