Parachutes for Pets is supporting pet owners impacted by the B.C. wildfires. The Calgary organization is offering its Wolf Pack program, which is its emergency response initiative for pets impacted by crises such as wildfires, floods, house fires, extreme weather and other natural --or personal -- disasters. The organization said in a media release that it has already made three trips to B.C., providing over 1,000 pets with Wolfpacks, which are named in honour of Calgary Flames goaltender Dustin Wolf, who supports the program. Parachutes for Pets said Thursday that it’s already received a request for another 250 Wolfpacks from the Penticton SPCA and is raising funds to help deliver more Wolfpacks. A Wolfpack contains wet and dry pet food, crates for safe transportation and other vital care supplies. “We jump into the wildfire zone and provide Wolfpacks wherever they are needed. The demand is high and is growing as the wildfires continue to cause evacuations,” says Melissa David, CEO of Parachutes for Pets. “The Wolfpacks bring much-needed support to families fleeing their homes.
