Calgary police say a loaded gun and illegal drugs were among the items seized by officers after taking two men into custody in Pine Creek on Wednesday. Police were called to the 0-100 block of Creekside Grove S.W. just after 2 p.m. for reports of two people attempting to get inside parked vehicles. Officers found two suspects and took them into custody. During their investigation, police recovered: A 32-year-old man is facing five charges, including of possession of a restricted firearm. A second 32-year-old man is charged with theft under $5,000 and obstruction. “This arrest highlights the proactive work being done by our officers to address property crime and remove dangerous weapons and drugs from our communities,” said Insp. Darry Midtdal. “What began as a report of suspicious activity quickly led to the seizure of a loaded firearm and illegal drugs. We appreciate residents who report suspicious behaviour and help us keep Calgary’s neighbourhoods safe.” Anyone with additional information about the incident is asked to call police at 403-266-1234.
