Calgary Wild FC fought AFC Toronto to a scoreless draw Sunday, extending their undefeated streak to six. It might not have been a win, but it felt a little like it for the Wild, which have never beaten Toronto. “That’s a great accomplishment for us. It is a whole team effort,” said Taylor Otto, one of five new additions to the club since July. “Defensively we are a lot more structured,” Otto said. “Obviously, we would have loved to get three points, but we are headed in the right direction for sure.” Calgary has not lost since Aug. 1, when they were defeated by Toronto. Otto said the club is evolving for the better after a struggling start to the season that landed them in last place. “For us there has been a lot of little changes, so I think the staff has done a great job adding a little more structure and credit to the girls coming in with a great attitude after a tough start to the season,” she said. “We found a way to turn it around. For us it is the next game ahead of us every time.” Next up for the Wild is a lunch hour special Saturday against Halifax Tides FC for its Active Girls Match with a noon kickoff. Third-place Toronto (9-5-5) could have moved past Ottawa for second with a win, with Ottawa only point ahead. Ottawa fell 3-2 to Montreal Sunday.
