Car that fatally struck Edmonton teen found in repair shop: police

Edmonton police say they’ve found a car that killed 13-year-old Adam Edhi in Edmonton last year, but they’re still looking for the driver.

Edhi was riding his bicycle at 48 Avenue and 34 Avenue in the early morning hours of May 29, 2024, when he was hit by a vehicle that didn’t stop. He died shortly after.

On Friday, police announced they’d found the blue Mazda 3 sedan they believe was involved in the crash, thanks to tips from the public.

The car was found at a repair shop in Edmonton.

Police say repairs and alterations had not been made to the car when they located it.

“We are encouraged by the new evidence we have obtained through locating and seizing the suspect Mazda 3,” Acting Sgt. Chris Deslaurier said in a news release.

“Our focus remains on bringing a matter of resolution to this young man’s family. We believe there are members of the public who have valuable information that will continue to assist us with our investigative efforts. If you have any information about the collision or the driver of this vehicle, please contact us immediately.”
