Ontario Provincial Police say a Cambridge resident was killed in a head-on crash north of Delhi. On Tuesday, just before 7 a.m., a sedan and transport truck collided on Brantford Road. “I’m sad to say that the driver of that passenger vehicle suffered serious life-threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene,” Const. Ed Sanchuk said in a video posted to social media. Police only identified that person as a 25-year-old from Cambridge. The driver of the transport truck was not hurt. Police said Brantford Road, between Windham Centre Road and Windham Road 7, was expected to remain closed for six to eight hours while they investigated the circumstances leading up to the crash. Witnesses are asked to contact OPP. They also speak to one person in particular. “[A] driver ran into a road closed sign causing significant damage not only to the sign, but to their vehicle,” said Const. Sanchuk. “You’re being encouraged to contact the Norfolk County OPP to make a collision report.” He added: “It’s best that you come and talk to us before we have to come and knock at your door.”
