A St. Boniface home is set to be demolished following a fire on Tuesday morning. The fire broke out around 4:50 a.m. at a house in the 800 block of Archibald Street. The Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service found heavy smoke and flames coming from the home and were forced to switch between offensive and defensive attacks as conditions changed. Fire crews also used an aerial ladder to spray water from above and eventually declared the fire under control just after 6:10 a.m. Firefighters are now arranging an emergency demolition of the home as the structure is compromised and poses a safety risk. No one was hurt in the blaze.
