The “all clear” has been given after a Code Green at St. Joseph’s Hospital. A portion of the building was evacuated Monday after a gas odour was detected during roof construction. Hospital officials said the odour was detected in Zone D and the area was evacuated out of an abundance of caution. As a result, appointments in several clinics had to be cancelled, including the Breast Care Program, Rheumatology, Hand and Upper Limb, Hand Therapy and the WSIB clinic. Patients with appointments in those programs were being asked to wait for a call to reschedule. Officials said appointments in all other programs at St. Joseph’s Hospital are proceeding as scheduled. No injuries or additional safety concerns were immediately reported.
