Starting Monday, residents hoping to head southbound on Highway 400 from Dunlop Street will have to find an alternative route. The Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) will close the Hwy. 400 southbound on-ramp of the Dunlop Street bridge from eastbound Dunlop Street West as of Monday. The already ongoing closure of the southbound on-ramp from westbound Dunlop Street West has been extended to Friday, Nov. 27, including access to Cedar Pointe from Dunlop Street West. This work is part of the Ontario MTO’s Highway 400 project, which includes constructing a new, expanded bridge crossing at Dunlop Street over Highway 400. It also includes widening the interchange to support future expansion of Hwy. 400. The detour will ask eastbound drivers on Dunlop Street West to go to Hwy. 400 via Anne Street and Essa Road. Westbound traffic on Dunlop Street West will still be detoured to Hwy. 400 via Ferndale Drive, Ardagh Road, and Essa Road. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and follow posted signs. The closure of the south bound on ramp from east Dunlop Street West remains in effect until Nov. 9.
