After a sunny long weekend, Montreal may be in for a very wet Tuesday to start the shortened work week. Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a special weather statement for heavy rain where levels may reach 40 to 60 millimetres and “cause water pooling on roads and in low-lying areas.” The statement applies to Montreal, Montérégie, Bois-Francs and the Eastern Townships. “A nearly stationary warm front associated with a low-pressure system sliding south of the border will favour the passage of bands of heavy rain over our areas,” the alert reads. The forecast calls for more rain on Wednesday with sunny skies on the way for Thursday.
