A 49-year-old man was sent to hospital after being stabbed Monday night, Montreal police say. At around 8:10 p.m., police received a 911 call about a fight near the intersection of Ontario Street East, near Desjardins Avenue, in the Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve. Officers arrived on scene and found the victim with upper-body injuries. He was sent to hospital and his medical condition is unknown, said police spokesperson Jeanne Drouin. “According to preliminary information, a conflict had occurred and at least one suspect fled on foot before police arrived,” Drouin added. No arrests have been made but the investigation is ongoing.
