Montreal police (SPVM) are investigating two stabbings that occurred early Sunday morning in the downtown core. According to the SPVM, a 911 call came in around 2:15 a.m. reporting the stabbings at Peel and Sainte-Catherine Streets in the Ville-Marie borough. When officers arrived on the scene, they located two victims, a 34-year-old man and a 48-year-old man, with upper-body injuries caused by a sharp object. Both men were transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect had already fled the scene before police arrived. Preliminary information suggests the incident began inside a bar on Peel Street. No arrests have been made. Police will be reviewing surveillance footage in the area. The investigation is ongoing.
