A 22-year-old man is facing charges after he was allegedly spotted pointing a gun outside a commercial complex in Selkirk, Man. on Tuesday. The incident began just before 2 a.m. behind a building on Sophia Street where Mounties responded to a “disturbance.” According to police, officers saw a suspect pointing a gun at a man who was lying on the ground. Police said the suspect cooperated with officers and dropped his gun. He was arrested without incident. The victim, a 20-year-old man from Swan Lake First Nation, was not physically hurt. Officers learned the suspect had also attacked a woman prior to the firearm incident. The 20-year-old Selkirk woman was not injured. A 22-year-old man from Birdtail Sioux First Nation has been charged with several offences including uttering threats and two counts of assault. The charges have not been proven in court. The investigation continues.
