Suspicious fire ignites at Dorval industrial park

A suspicious fire was ignited at a building in Dorval’s industrial park early Monday morning.

Montreal police (SPVM) received a 911 call at 1:30 a.m. about the incident on Saint-Régis Boulevard.

“The fire department took over the fire very quickly and noticed that there were some objects that were left on the scene that led us to believe it was criminal,” said Raphaël Bergeron, a spokesperson with Montreal police.

He adds that the force has yet to determine why that particular address was targeted.

“At this point, we don’t have any description or information concerning a possible suspect,” Bergeron said, noting that police plan to examine surveillance footage in the area for clues.

He points out that the building sustained damage to its facade and interior.

The file has been transferred to the Montreal police arson squad.
