A total of 23.59 per cent of Quebecers voted in advance polling, according to Elections Quebec Tuesday. The percentage includes data from the past two days, as well as voting on college campuses, in private seniors’ homes and in long-term care facilities, officials said. Advance polling took place on Sunday and Monday, with the agency stating that 13.79 per cent of people had voted after the first day. The riding with the highest turnout was Louis-Hébert in the Capitale-Nationale at 38.38 per cent, followed by Vanier-Les Rivières in Quebec City at 34.40 per cent. The riding with the lowest voter turnout was Ungava, the largest and most northern provincial electoral district in Quebec, at 8.31 per cent. In the 2022 election, a slightly higher number - 24.8 per cent - of voters cast their ballots ahead of time, according to Elections Quebec. Voters wanting to vote in advance can still do so until Thursday at the returning officer’s office. Election day is set for Oct. 5.
