A 24-year-old man from Timmins has been charged with stunt driving after provincial police say officers stopped his vehicle travelling well over the posted speed limit on Highway 101 East. Ontario Provincial Police conducted the traffic stop near Timmins on July 15. “The OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement team stopped a vehicle travelling at 132 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on Highway 101 East,” said police in a social media post. As a result, the man was charged with stunt driving. In addition to the charge, the driver received a 30-day licence suspension and his vehicle was impounded for 14 days. OPP ended their post with a simple message to motorist: “Slow down.”
