Ontario Provincial Police have charged a man and two women after a drug trafficking investigation led to a traffic stop on Lebel Avenue in Kirkland Lake before 9 00 p.m. Sept. 21. “A search of the persons and vehicle resulted in the seizure of suspected fentanyl, crack cocaine, cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, and Oxycodone, with an estimated street value of over $56,500,” police said in a release Tuesday. “$20,000 in currency, brass knuckles, cellular devices and drug trafficking paraphernalia were also seized.” A 35-year-old Timmins man faces five counts of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime, possession of a prohibited weapon and five counts of possession of firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order. A 39-year-old woman has been charged with five counts of trafficking, property obtained by crime and possession of a weapon. A 43-year-old woman from Kirkland Lake was also charged with five counts of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime and possession of a prohibited weapon. The three accused are in custody and are to appear in a Kirkland Lake court Sept. 22.
