A joint drug investigation by the Timmins Police Service and the Ontario Provincial Police in October has led to charges against a Timmins man and woman. The investigation into drug trafficking in the city identified a residence on Preston Street where drugs were allegedly being sold, police said in a release Wednesday. A search warrant was executed Nov. 4, where police charged a 38-year-old man and 34-year-old woman. Charges include five counts of trafficking, unauthorized possession of a firearm, carless storage of a firearm and possession of proceeds obtained by crime. Police used the search warrant to seize a 9mm handgun, more than $18,000 cash and drugs including meth, ecstasy, fentanyl, cocaine, Percocet and crystal meth. Total value of the cash and drugs seized was more than $100,000, police said.
