TransLink is warning commuters that SkyTrain service between Vancouver and Burnaby, B.C., was suspended Wednesday morning due to a fire near Gilmore Station. The transit operator said Brentwood, Gilmore and Rupert stations will be closed until further notice. Millennium Line service at Gilmore Station was suspended at 5:50 a.m. “due to heavy smoke at the station,” TransLink said. Extra buses and staff are in place to help customers at Holdom, Brentwood, Gilmore, Rupert and Renfrew stations. “TransLink is conducting a thorough investigation of infrastructure,” the operator said in a statement. “The station will reopen once the investigation is complete and the infrastructure has been cleared for operation.” The Expo Line and Canada Line are unaffected by the disruption and continue to provide regular service, TransLink said.
