North Bay Ontario Provincial Police is investigating a fatal structure fire in East Ferris Township that took place Wednesday evening. Firefighters, police and paramedics responded to the residential fire around 11 p.m. Oct. 7 on Quae-Quae Road in East Ferris Township. Foul play not suspected “A deceased individual was located within the residence,” the OPP said in a news release Oct. 9. “The northeast region OPP forensic identification services and the Office of the Fire Marshal attended the scene and are assisting with the investigation.” The Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario is also helping with the investigation. A post-mortem examination has been scheduled in Sudbury. “The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation,” police said. “At this time, foul play is not suspected.”
