Four people from Chelmsford — two aged 18, two aged 17 — have been charged following an incident Monday evening in downtown Sudbury, Ont. Just before 10 p.m. Monday, police received multiple reports about people in a pickup truck “discharging fireworks and BB guns at individuals in the downtown core.” “Officers were dispatched immediately and began searching for the vehicle,” police said in a news release. “As the investigation progressed, additional reports were received indicating the occupants continued to fire BB guns at pedestrians.” One person struck by a BB One person was hit by a pellet, police added. Their investigation uncovered the licence plate on the pickup, leading officers to Chelmsford. By 10:40 p.m., they found the vehicle and arrested four suspects. “A search incident to arrest resulted in the seizure of multiple pellet guns and ammunition,” the release said. All four were charged with pointing a firearm, discharging a firearm with intent, assault with a weapon and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. All four suspects were released on undertakings with court dates in the fall.
