Ottawa motorists may want to wait until Wednesday to fill up the gas tank. Canadians for Affordable Energy president Dan McTeague says drivers should expect an eight cent a litre drop by Wednesday for both gasoline and diesel. “Energy markets playing politics rather than tracking fundamentals, anticipating a (U.S. President Donald Trump) setback in the mid-terms and shedding positions,” McTeague said on X. The price of gas increased five cents a litre in Ottawa on Sunday to $1.79 a litre. The average price of diesel is $2.48 a litre, according to McTeague. Oil prices dropped on the world markets on Monday. The December crude oil contract was down US$6.96 at US$97.16 per barrel. With files from The Canadian Press
