Ottawa police are investigating a suspicious death in Lowertown on Saturday. The incident occurred in the 200 block of Guigues Avenue near Cumberland Street, Ottawa police said in a social media post shortly after 2:20 p.m. “Residents can expect an increased police presence as officers continue to gather evidence and speak to potential witnesses,” police say. Ottawa paramedics spokesperson Nicolas Guertin says emergency crews received a call from police at 11:39 a.m. concerning a possible deceased person. Guertin says a woman was declared dead at the scene by paramedics. Police add there is no ongoing threat to public safety.
