One person is facing 14 charges following a high-risk traffic stop in Regina on Tuesday night. Just before 10 p.m., officers responded to a report of a weapons offence involving a passenger in a taxi who was believed to be in possession of a gun and bear spray, according to a Tuesday news release from the Regina Police Service (RPS). Police say they found the taxi in the 1500 block of Rae Street and conducted a high-risk traffic stop. A man got out of the vehicle and tried to get into a nearby home. An electroshock weapon was deployed by officers and the man was taken into custody without further incident, police said. During a search, police found a loaded gun, cocaine, bear spray, brass knuckles and alcohol. A 34-year-old man is facing 14 charges in connection to the incident, including possession of a scheduled substance, careless use of a firearm, possession of a weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle and resisting arrest. He made his first appearance in Regina Provincial Court on Tuesday morning.
