Two people, including a 14-year-old, are facing several charges following a stolen vehicle investigation in Regina over the weekend. Officers were called to the 4400 block of 4th Avenue for a report of a stolen vehicle around 1:50 p.m. on Saturday, according to a news release from the Regina Police Service (RPS) on Tuesday. Police say the caller indicated they had found the stolen vehicle in a parking lot with two people inside, but the vehicle left the area before officers arrived. Officers found the stolen vehicle in a nearby residential neighbourhood a short time later and saw two suspects leave the vehicle. Police say both suspects fled on foot after failing to comply with police demands. A police dog was able to apprehend one of the suspects, who was taken to hospital with dog bite injuries. The second suspect was arrested without further incident, RPS said. Following investigation, officers found two loaded firearms in bags the suspects had in their possession shortly before they were arrested. A 31-year-old man and a 14-year-old boy are each facing 11 charges, including possession of property obtained by crime, careless storage of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, and unauthorized possession of a prohibited device in a motor vehicle. The man made his appearance in Regina Provincial Court on Monday, while the youth appeared in Regina Provincial Youth Court on the same day.
