An accidental fire at a Saskatoon home under renovation caused an estimated $10,000 in damage early Saturday morning. The Saskatoon Fire Department says crews were called to the 600 block of McPherson Avenue around 12:18 a.m. after a fire broke out at the home. When crews arrived, they found smoke and flames coming from the house. Firefighters used hose lines to extinguish the fire on the main floor and large fans to clear smoke and toxins from the building. A search confirmed everyone had safely evacuated, and no civilians or firefighters were injured. In an update Saturday morning, the fire department said an investigator determined the fire started in the living room and was accidental.
