Saskatoon’s Broadway Avenue was filled with music, food and community spirit Saturday as the Broadway Street Fair returned for its 43rd year, and it’s an event that marks the end of summer. Broadway was closed to vehicles from Five Corners to 8th Street. The annual event brought large crowds to the neighbourhood for a day of live performances, local food vendors and Saskatoon’s largest sidewalk sale, featuring items from home-based crafters and artisans and businesses from Broadway Avenue and surrounding streets. While the forecast was cloudy, the sun did manage to make an appearance during the festivities. Families also took part in free activities, including face painting, bouncy houses and games, while roaming circus performers entertained crowds throughout the day. The annual street fair continues to celebrate culture, community and inclusion, bringing people together along Broadway Avenue for one last celebration of summer.
