Blaine Lake RCMP are investigating after a man was killed when his van crashed on the Petrofka Bridge. At about 3:00 a.m. Wednesday, police were called to a single-vehicle collision on Highway 12, south of Blaine Lake on the Petrofka Bridge. An investigation found a minivan collided with a roadside safety barrier, then collided with a piece of heavy equipment parked in the area. No one was inside the heavy equipment at the time of the collision. The highway was temporarily closed but has since reopened. Blaine Lake RCMP are investigating alongside a Saskatchewan RCMP collision reconstructionist.
