Saskatoon fire crews responded to a late night fire on Whitecap Crescent Saturday. Fire crews were called to the 200 block of Whitecap Crescent at around 10:19 p.m. after reports of a structure fire. The fire department says crews on scene observed heavy black smoke when entering the building. Firefighters entered the duplex unit, which was filled with thick smoke, and extinguished the fire. The blaze was contained to the room, preventing it from spreading to other parts of the home. The fire department says all occupants were evacuated safely and no injuries were reported. As of 11:31 p.m., a fire investigator was on the scene to determine the cause and origin of the fire.
