Durham police’s Homicide Unit is investigating after a male was found dead in Port Perry on Tuesday. Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) say officers responded to a call for a sudden death on Water Street at around 8 a.m. They say a male was located deceased there. Footage from Chopper 24 from above the scene shows a forensics tent in a laneway. “Updates will be provided as they become available,” DRPS told CTV News Toronto in an email. Police previously posted on X about a police investigation in the area, saying that Water Street, between Queen and Mary streets, is closed for a police investigation. They urged drivers to find an alternative route.
