$150,000 street value: Victoria police seize fentanyl, meth, weapons and cash

Victoria police say they seized drugs worth “up to $150,000” and made a pair of arrests as part of an ongoing investigation this week.

The Victoria Police Department Strike Force Unit arrested a man in the 500 block of Dunedin Street on Wednesday for possession of drugs, a loaded firearm and cash, the department said in a news release Friday.

The following day, in connection to the same investigation, police executed a search warrant in the 2400 block of Eastdowne Road. There, they seized more drugs, a replica firearm and a bulletproof vest, according to the department.

The drugs seized included fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine, police said. They also seized a “buffing agent.”

According to police, the “estimated street value” of the seized fentanyl and meth is “up to $150,000.” They did not specify the weight of the drugs seized.

The man arrested Wednesday remains in custody and is facing “several” Criminal Code and Controlled Drugs and Substances Act charges, police said.

A search of the file number in B.C.’s Court Services Online system Friday yielded no results, suggesting charges have not yet been approved against the arrested man.

A woman arrested during the Eastdowne Road search has since been released, though charges will be recommended, according to police.
