Homicide investigators are seeking dash-cam video captured along a rural road in Surrey, B.C., where a man’s body was discovered this week. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team said the deceased was found by the side of the road in the 6100 block of 156 Street Wednesday afternoon. Authorities are still working to confirm the man’s identity. In the meantime, Sgt. Freda Fong said the clock is ticking on “perishable evidence” such as dash-cam recordings that might help with IHIT’s investigation. “We are calling on the public for help,” Fong said. “What is critical aside from his identification is to establish a timeline of events leading up to the discovery of the body, which is why anyone who was in the area needs to contact IHIT right away.” Investigators are hoping to speak with anyone who was driving or walking in the area between Oct. 8 and 14 and has information that could be relevant to the case. Fong said investigators haven’t confirmed how long the body may have been at the scene before it was discovered. She noted the area is “near farmland,” and doesn’t usually see much foot traffic. IHIT has not provided any information on how the man may have died, only that the circumstances at the scene led investigators to suspect criminality. Anyone with information can contact IHIT by calling 1-877-551-4448 or by emailing ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca. With files from CTV News Vancouver’s Kraig Krause
