A towing company on B.C.’s Sunshine Coast shared dramatic photos of the aftermath of a terrifying near-miss for a driver on a local highway. Todd Loitz, of Walt’s Towing and Automotive Services, told CTV News the RCMP called him in to request he retrieve a vehicle Wednesday morning. When he arrived, a large metal clamp that had gone “flying” off of a flatbed truck was lodged in the front windshield of a Subaru. “Lucky, it hit her hood and slowed it down, and then it went right through her windshield. It’s so lucky, like where it went, because it could have been a lot worse. And you should see the glass, because the glass went so hard it was in the back seat of the vehicle,” he said. Neither the driver nor the person in the passenger seat was injured. CTV News has reached out to the RCMP to ask whether the driver of the truck is facing any penalties but has not received a response.
