A new tunnel bus service between Windsor and Detroit is now in operation. The Linq Tunnel Bus kicked off service from the Rose City to the Motor City and back Monday morning. It’s a locally owned and operated business – its mandate is to provide a regular and seamless transit between the two cities. Transit Windsor ended its regular tunnel bus service to Detroit on Aug. 31, 2025. Dhar Bhella is the owner of The Linq Tunnel Bus company. “All we’re hopeful that for, you know, that people get to know us, get to know our service,” said Bhella. “A lot of people don’t know yet that we’re taking the bus previously. We’re just trying to get our word out there via social media news, however we can and hopefully pick up more passengers.” The company’s aim is to provide service for anyone requiring a cost-effective option to visit, commute for work or take in an event. The offering is a reliable and affordable transportation entity through the Windsor-Detroit tunnel for residents on both sides of the border. The bus eliminates parking costs and difficulties and provides comfortable seating. The regular scheduled bus will cost $15 per person, one way. Currently, the payment method is cashless (debit or credit card). Seating is first-come, first-served. In Windsor, the there are two bus stops for now, one on Bruce Avenue at Riverside Drive West and the other at Mc Dougall Street and University Avenue East.
