Chatham, Ont.’s Crowfest opened with a bang, breaking the world record for the world’s biggest Caesar cocktail. The cocktail was 1,261.42 litres, breaking the previous record set in 2023 of 1,050 litres, which was set in Regina, Sask. Volunteers worked together to create the massive drink, using 1,095 litres of Clamato juice, 17 litres of Worcestershire sauce, 11 litres of hot sauce, six litres of lemon juice, 137 litres of Bootlegger Distillery vodka, and 60 ounces of celery salt. The process was filmed from beginning to end, ensuring it was documented for the title. An adjudicator and two official witnesses were also on scene. All attendees were 19 years old and up, which allowed them to have a glass, validating the Guinness World Record. All evidence will be submitted for proper verification. “In Guinness World Record guidelines, we need at least three ingredients: Vodka, tomato juice, and Worcestershire sauce,” said Andrew Thiel, co-chair of Crowfest. “We are also adding celery salt, lemon juice, and a pickle, as we all know you can’t have a Canadian Caesar without a pickle.” As the festival continues, running from Sept. 16 to 19 in Chatham, it hopes to set at least four more world records.
