An annual favourite event is gearing up and it’s in support of local charities in Windsor Essex. The Denim and Diamonds gala will take place on Nov. 1 at the Hellenic Cultural Centre on Walker Road. It’s one of the Circle of Seven’s biggest yearly fundraisers and coincides with the philanthropic organizations 30th anniversary. To date, $5 million has been raised by the Circle of Seven which has been donated to Windsor-Essex charitable causes. It’s a chance to dress up your blue jean attire while enjoying a gourmet buffet, cocktail offerings, and live music. Rob Agnew is one of the original seven founding members of the Circle of Seven. “Tickets are, again this year, $125. And you get a lot for the money, believe me,” said Agnew. “From, live music to great food, a lot of fun silent auctions, live auctions. We have people that do their Christmas shopping on our auctions. In fact, I just ordered a couple of things for the auction table that are toys for kids.” There are opportunities to take home various items in silent and live auctions with proceeds of the event to benefit local charities that do not get primary funding from the government.
